My definition of leisure
Above is a picture of mine at Fisherman’s Wharf, San Francisco, CA. I love travelling a lot and have been to over 15 countries and have been almost all over America. To me leisure is all about exploring new places, getting to know different aspects of various cultures and knowing the history behind them. Whenever I have a break, I like to set out to a new place and explore it. For example, during thanksgiving last year, I went to New York and New Jersey and during this spring break I visited California.
Irene's definition of leisure
This is a picture of inn harbor in Victoria, Vancouver, where I went for spring break. One of my best friends in Korea has been studying in Victoria, so I planned to visit her for the week. My favorite activity in Victoria was walking along the beach while enjoying the beautiful view and breezy weather. The warm and cozy wind released my stress from school and soothing view of the beach kept me in calm. Personally, when I enjoyed my ‘fish and chips’ at inn harbor while watching the view that I took above, it was one of the zenith of my vacation. That breath-taking view did not only gave me peace and tranquil, but also gave me excitement and freshness. Everyone has different point of view about leisure; for me, the meaning of the leisure is “freedom.” Leisure allows me to do whatever I wish to do and think. No school projects, no deadlines, no grades nor homework hold me back. I freely can do whatever I want to do which gives me the most lots of excitement and rest during my leisure
Paul Han Byeol Jang's definition of leisure
This is a picture of my roommate and I at a restaurant called Flat Top Grill over Spring Break. Many of you are probably familiar with this restaurant because they have a location near Green St. as well as my hometown, which is Evanston, Illinois. One thing we enjoy about Flat Top Grill is that you can order a buffet. My high school friends and I usually go to this restaurant when we all come back to our hometown; it has developed into a tradition over the years. Eating at this restaurant is very meaningful to me because it lets me reunite with all of my old high school buddies. I really don’t see my high school buddies too often during the school year, so this leisure activity is important to me. In my opinion, leisure is any recreational activity that you enjoy and complete in your spare time. We spend our leisure time eating at Flat Top Grill, so we can catch up with each other. Next month, my high school buddies are planning to visit me on campus and I am sure that we will eat at Flat Top Grill. I think this is the most meaningful leisure activity.

Carlos A. Sandoval's Assingment 1
Leisure is freedom from the demands of work or study. In thie picture I am enjoying my favorite leisure activity, fishing. I find this leisure activity enjoyable and stress relieving. For me fishing is also a sport, I fish competitively. In the photo above I was fishing a BFL (Wal-Mart Bass Fishing League) tournament on Kentucky Lake, and I caught this 6lb Largemouth Bass on Practice day. I didn't catch any keepers on Tournament day, but I had a blast any way. I really enjoy fishing, whether it is just for fun or during a tournament, it grants me freedom from the demands of work or study.
Tom Heaney Activity One Leisure Activity
This is a picture of what I did over spring break. I went to the beach in Florida for the week. What I like to do at the beach is relax and enjoy the sand and ocean as much as I can. When I was in Florida I spent my time laying around and going in the ocean. If I could choose any way to relax I would more often than not choose to lay around on a warm beach any day. This means to me that I am laid back. I do not require a lot of excitement just peaceful, nice weather. I know that the definition of leisure can be very unique to each and every person. What leisure means to me is the participation in an activity that is enjoyable and relaxing to oneself.

Edward Chan's Definition of Leisure - Assignment 1
This is a picture of my room and is probably the one place that I will miss most after my spring break. It gives a great representation of who I am by illustrating the environment I have been working and living in for a good part of my life and personally, the room means a great deal as it contains cherished memories that lay around scattered around my desk. When I needed shelter from life’s daily stresses, my room gave me the opportunity to rest and provided the surroundings necessary for me to be able to cope with the various tasks that were yet to be accomplished. It provided activities to do during times when I wanted to find something other than meddling school studying or other mundane activities. That is where my definition of leisure comes. For myself, leisure is composed of the normal activities that we all do during our free time, whether it be playing sports, browsing the web, or reading; it is those daily activities that we might not think about twice, but those that also give an unnoticeable touch of color to our lives.

Shaefer Kirby's Definition of Leisure (Assignment 1)
This is a picture of me (and my dog Gunner) playing the guitar. I purchased my guitar about two years ago and began teaching myself to play. To me, playing guitar IS Leisure. I almost always grab my guitar to take a break from homework, projects, and studying. In a way, playing allows me to escape the stresses and obligations of school. When I'm not hanging out with friends, most of my personal free time is consumed by learning new chord progressions, picking/strumming patterns, and/or new songs. Leisure is setting aside time to do something (an activity) you enjoy - something that sets your mind at ease and allows the individual to escape from the obligations of everyday life.
